ITTO meets with Japanese government officials to discuss emission reductions

ITTO Executive Director Sheam Satkuru met with Nakagawa Yasuhiro, Japan’s Parliamentary Vice-minister of Environment, in Tokyo on 27 April 2022 to exchange views on how ITTO’s work could contribute to Japan’s pledge to significantly reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Ms Satkuru expressed her gratitude to the Government of Japan for its support for ITTO over three decades.

Later in the day, Ms Sheam Satkuru met with Mr Manabu Sakai, a member of Kanagawa Prefecture’s House of Representatives, also to discuss potential ways in which ITTO’s work could contribute to Japan’s pledge on reducing greenhouse-gas emissions. During the meeting, Ms Satkuru thanked members of Kanagawa’s House of Representatives for their support in hosting ITTO in Kanagawa Prefecture.
