2025/01/23

ITTO collaborated with the City of Yokohama to host a training workshop for 38 city employees, focusing on the crucial role of forest biodiversity in supporting society. Titled "Wood on Your Plate: How is Wood Connected to Your Food?", the workshop featured guided self-reflection exercises that encouraged participants to explore how everyday life—ranging from basic needs like food and clothing to global imperatives such as climate resilience and planetary health—depends on thriving forest ecosystems. The session also highlighted the significance of tropical forests, emphasizing their vital goods and services and reinforcing the essential link between sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and urban well-being.
The session was recorded and is available for viewing in three parts: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
