ITTO delivers lecture to Americayama Garden Academy elementary school

As part of Yokohama City’s Lecture Delivery Programme, ITTO staff members Manako Hanawa and Maiko Suzuki gave presentations at Americayama Garden Academy elementary school on 15 August 2024. The presentations focused on the global importance of tropical forests and ITTO’s role in their sustainable management and conservation.
Ms Hanawa and Ms Suzuki explained the many benefits provided by tropical forests, the goods and services derived from their sustainable use and the challenges they face. They also highlighted ITTO’s projects in the tropics and its commitment to sustainable forest management and community engagement.
The lecture raised awareness and inspired students to contribute to environmental protection and tropical forest conservation.
