Council’s Advisory Bodies/Groups
This page describes the composition and roles of the various bodies/groups which provide advice to the Tropical Timber Council (ITTO’s governing body).
Informal Advisory Group
The International Tropical Timber Council established the Informal Advisory Group in 1997. Its role is to receive, generate, synthesize and provide advice to the Council on strategic priorities and policy options for ITTO.
Trade Advisory Group
The Trade Advisory Group (TAG) comprises representatives of timber traders, manufacturers, importers and exporters; it provides input to the International Tropical Timber Council’s policy work and action regarding the global timber trade.
Civil Society Advisory Group
The Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG) comprises representatives of non-governmental environmental and other civil-society organizations with a focus on conservation and sustainable development.
