ITTO delivers lecture to Ushikubo elementary school

As part of Yokohama City’s Lecture Delivery Programme, ITTO staff members Hanawa Manako and Sakai Masako delivered presentations at Yokohama’s Ushikubo elementary school on 14 March 2024 to raise awareness about the global significance of tropical forests.
The presentations offered insights into the vital resources and services offered by tropical forests and the challenges facing these important ecosystems. Ms Hanawa and Ms Sakai also discussed ITTO’s project programme and highlighted the Organization’s commitment to sustainable forest management and community engagement. Overall, the session aimed to educate and inspire students to help protect the environment and conserve tropical forests.
