ITTO Projects Manager Tetra Yanuariadi joined the conference to learn from attending researchers and scientists.

Mr Yanuariadi shared details about ITTO’s work on wood-based biomass energy, particularly its focus on the technical and economic potential of utilizing logging residues and wood-processing waste for energy transformation to increase resource utilization and energy efficiency in tropical countries.

He highlighted ITTO’s experience organizing International and Regional Fora on Promoting Wood-Based Bioenergy Using Wood Residues and Wastes in Germany, Brazil, Cameroon, and Indonesia. These fora were designed to raise awareness about opportunities for improving energy security using wood-based bioenergy, including the potential use of wood residues for the co-generation of electricity, which also reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

At the 7th RD20 Conference, Mr Yanuariadi shared ITTO’s experience implementing a project in Indonesia, which enabled local communities in North Sumatra province to develop wood-based biomass energy supplies.
