Community forestry is an essential approach for countries wanting to include REDD+ in their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs), according to speakers at a side-event co-hosted by ITTO at the 21st meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The side-event, titled “REDD+ within the Intended Nationally Determined Contributions: governance lessons learnt from community forest management in tropics”, was held in Paris, France, on 1 December 2015.
