[Pre-ITTC60 Session] Origami Workshop
The Art of Japanese Paper Folding of Tropical Forest Animals

[Pre-ITTC60 Session] Origami Workshop

Date & venue: 1 December 2024, Yokohama, Japan

Join us for a fun Origami Workshop celebrating the art of Japanese paper folding, where we’ll create beautiful representations of tropical forest animals. Origami, a centuries-old Japanese tradition, transforms simple paper into intricate shapes and forms, requiring only a few folds to bring subjects to life. Guided by the talented ORIST Origami Club, this hands-on workshop is open to all skill levels—whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned origami enthusiast.

Good news! This event is FREE and all origami materials will be provided.

Discover the beauty of Japanese origami, learn about tropical forest animals, and connect with fellow nature and origami enthusiasts in this creative, cultural event!

This event is hosted by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and co-hosted by the City of Yokohama: International Affairs Bureau. ITTO is an intergovernmental organization based in Yokohama, dedicated to the sustainable management and conservation of tropical forests worldwide. Through such initiatives, ITTO raises awareness about the importance of tropical biodiversity and sustainable forest management.

The ITTO will hold its 60th Council session from 2nd to 6th of December this year. To celebrate this milestone, this free origami workshop is an offering of ITTO and its member countries as a gratitude to the generosity, support, and hospitality of Japan and its people.
