Summary
The project aims to promote the implementation of reduced impact logging (RIL) practices in Cambodia with a view to strengthening efforts towards sustainable forest management in the country. The project plans to accomplish this through the use and adaptation of reduced impact logging practices by training foresters, supervisors, managers and trainers from the Department of Forestry and Wildlife and the private sector, including concessionaires. This project will also establish a demonstration plot in the Kompong Thom forest area in the central part of Cambodia. The Department of Forestry and Wildlife (DFW) will manage the training courses in collaboration with research and education institutes and the private sector.
