Project/activity information

The development objectives of the project are to achieve optimal sustained utilization of the mangrove resources of Panama without causing adverse effects on the ecosystem, improve conditions of the rural communities on the mangrove forests, improve the efficiency in exploitation and utilization of the mangroves, develop suitable areas for recreation, sanctuaries, and research, and maintain or increase breeding and harvesting of fish, mollusks, and crustaceans dependent on the mangrove ecosystems.
