ITTO participates in APEC Experts Group on Illegal Logging and Associated Trade

ITTO attended the 19th meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Experts Group on Illegal Logging and Associated Trade (APEC EGILAT), held virtually on 19–20 February 2021, which focused on promoting trade in legally harvested forest products in APEC economies. ITTO Director of Operations, Ms Sheam Satkuru, presented ITTO’s efforts on this front, including activities carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic, concrete contributions from the Organization’s various projects, programmes and activities, and the outcomes of the 56th Session of the International Tropical Timber Council. Among other things, the impact of COVID-19 on the forest and timber industry sectors was of high interest to member economies.
