From May 28-30 Yokohama will host TICAD IV where up to 40 African heads of state are expected, along with thousands of other high-level delegates. A key theme of the conference will be environment and development. ITTO will take advantage of this important event in its host city to showcase its work to promote sustainable forest management in Africa. The Organization will also co-host a lunch for around 800 eminent TICAD participants together with the Tokyo-based African Diplomatic Community, and will arrange a commemorative tree-planting ceremony on the margins of the meeting.
