Side Event at the 23rd IUFRO World Congress "ITTO Children's Environmental Education Programme on Tropical Forests"

In light of the need to enhance awareness of the important role of tropical forests in addressing climate change and biodiversity loss, imparting knowledge to children is essential in the continuing pursuit of a holistic balance between environment and development on our planet. ITTO has, therefore, launched Children Environmental Education Programme on Tropical Forests with the objective of contributing to the emergence of a new generation of world citizens who understand the role of forests in climate change mitigation and adaptation and the importance of sustainable forest management. ITTO will feature this programme at a side-event during the IUFRO World Congress to be convened in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
