Résumé
Data from satellite imagery have potential applications in various conservation area management and monitoring aspects. Whether for land-use planning, forest zoning, ecosystems mapping purposes or to support law enforcement policies against illegal practices in protected areas, satellite imagery can provide data to selectable levels of definition and accuracy on vast tracks of land in remote areas such as trans-boundary landscapes. The development objective of this Activity is to contribute to the management of threats to biodiversity in Trans-boundary Protected Areas in the countries of the Congo Basin. Its specific objective is to build capacity and expertise in the use of satellite imagery data for the management of TBCAs in the Congo Basin countries.
