This project seeks to directly address the problems caused by the limited monitoring and control mechanisms currently in place, which cannot clearly guarantee the traceability of forest products in the different regions of Guatemala.

The development objective of the project is to reduce illegal logging and trade in illegal forest products in Guatemala, while its specific objective is to increase institutional and local capacities in the monitoring and control of forest products by strengthening the legal forest production chain. The project is expected to increase institutional capacity in the monitoring of forest products through the strengthening of mechanisms to improve traceability along the forest production chain. |
