| Resumen |
The Government of Thailand intends to develop a project proposal aimed at enhancing forest law enforcement and governance and strengthening communities’ capacities to use their forests for poverty alleviation in Chaiyaphum Province. At present, the necessary information for an adequate project design on this theme is lacking, and thus a pre-project proposal is needed to have baseline information on community forestry and to define clear strategies on how solve problems inhibiting sound community forestry development. The development objective of the pre-project is to contribute to the sustainable development of rural communities of Chaiyaphum Province through the promotion of law enforcement, good governance and sustainable management and use of community forests. The specific objective is to develop a comprehensive project proposal aimed at strengthening the capacity of communities of Chaiyaphum Province to sustainably manage their forests. The main output will therefore be a project proposal.
