Tropical Forest Update
Issue 35 No. 1
Advocacy. Action. Impact: Supporting sustainable tropical forestry on all fronts
Sustainable forest management (SFM) advances not through declarations alone, but through the patient, systematic work of translating commitments and principles into practices that brings economic, social and environmental benefits. ITTO demonstrates this principle across scales—from high-level international forums to tropical forests and plantations, from policy dialogues to financing mechanisms, and from research conferences to community woodlots. The articles in this edition of Tropical Forest Update illustrate how effective forest stewardship emerges when global engagement connects meaningfully with national institutions, technical innovations, and local realities.
