| Summary |
The pre-project collected baseline data on forest activities, forestry administration, rural economy and ecology, and designed and defined the procedures, parameters, equipment needed, costs, etc., in order to carry out a multipurpose forest inventory, land use plans, forest management plans and training activities for the local staff. The work was carried out by experts in the fields of forest management, photo-interpretation and mapping, rural economics, and forest ecology.

The project output was a project proposal (PD 12/96 Rev.2 (F)) that was approved during the twenty-first ITTC session. Also, five reports covering the topics mentioned above were produced. The final report of the pre-project was circulated as PCF(XIX)/8, during the ITTC's twenty-first session. |
