ITTO to launch Tropical Integrated Fire Management Toolkit

To mark the launch of the first online toolkit for managing forest fires in the tropics, the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) will host three regional sessions for key stakeholders to showcase the new ITTO Tropical Integrated Fire Management (TIFM) Toolkit.

The TIFM Toolkit is a centralized clearinghouse of tropical fire knowledge resources, technical guidelines and decision-support tools. 

Held separately for participants from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, the online sessions will officially launch the TIFM Toolkit, share regional contexts and applications, address users’ questions, and outline the global fire trends that have shaped the Toolkit’s development.

During these sessions, participants will hear from ITTO Executive Director Sheam Satkuru on ITTO’s strategic vision for integrated fire management, watch a live demonstration of the toolkit’s key functions from Director of Forest Management Jennifer Conje, and be informed by leading experts in the field about global and regional IFM trends.
