International workshop on climate change and the forest sector: Clean Development Mechanism in tropical countries

This workshop, organised under ITTO project PD 174/02, provided an international forum to promote the development of carbon markets in the tropics through the implementation of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) forestry activities such as industrial afforestation and the reforestation of degraded forest land by the forest sector. The forum identified current trends and potential impacts of carbon forestry, with an emphasis on the forest industry sector and rural livelihoods in tropical countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
