ITTO Signs MOU with Chinese Academy of Forestry

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on international forestry training between ITTO and the Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF) was signed by Mr. Emmanuel Ze Meka, the Executive Director of ITTO and Prof. Zhang Shougong, the President of CAF on 11 May 2012 at the ITTO Secretariat. This MOU aims to promote cooperation on international training in forestry, particularly in the field of sustainable forest management in the tropics, value-added timber processing, forest products trade and related forestry policy. It will identify priorities and strategies for international training in forestry for ITTO member countries and develop and implement joint training programmes to be funded by the Government of China with the technical support of ITTO.
